Frequently Asked Questions

How are your products different from similar skincare products on the market? 

To start, our products are made using only certified organic and vegan ingredients wherever possible. We do this to be reasonably sure that none of our ingredients contain residual pesticides, fertilizers, or other unnecessary components. 

We also do not use any preservatives, artificial fragrances, or other additives/fillers in any of our products. We do this to ensure that you receive as many active ingredients in each container as possible.  

Most importantly, what sets The Best Kind apart from our competitors is our proprietary herbal extracts and infusions. All of the extracts and oil infusions we use in our products—including rosemary, basil, and calendula—are made in-house by us to ensure the quality and potency of the raw materials from batch to batch. 

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all of our products are vegan (i.e., contain nothing that comes from an animal). 

Are your products tested on animals? 

Absolutely not! 

My butter is grainy, melted, or has changed in consistency—is there something wrong with it? 

Not at all! Because our products do not contain any added stabilizers or emulsifiers, the consistency of our butters may change depending on the ambient temperature, storage conditions, and age of product. This does not mean the butter is no longer usable—rest assured, it will deliver the same results regardless of its consistency. Are your products safe for individuals with allergies? 

Our products are organic, vegan, paraben-free, and non-GMO. While we strive to create products that are as accessible as possible, we recognize that certain ingredients can affect individuals differently. 

As a general matter, all of our products contain some combination of ingredients that are derived from certain beans and nuts (including cocoa beans, coconut, and shea nut).

We also use calendula and yarrow flowers in some of our products, which may trigger allergic reactions in people who are sensitive to ragweed, daisies, or other members of the Asteraceae/Comositae family. We also include comfrey as an ingredient in at least one of our products.

What is the shelf life of your products? 

Unopened products last indefinitely as they do not contain water or other components that shorten the shelf life. Once opened, the butters will last approximately 8 months or so.
